I think that it's Maragrite's fault that the picture got out everywhere, if she wouldn't have sent the picture then that would have never happened. I also think that Isaiah shouldn't have been such a jerk and sent it to a girl that used to be her friend. By doing that it caused a lot of problems.

Videography

I thought it looked cool in the beginning when they were showing their feet walking. Also it was cool how you could hear them working on cars in the background while the interview was going on. It was kind of funny how they were all doing pilates at an auto shop, especially since they are all guys.

A young guy is on the road and boating a lot because he wants to be a pro bass fisher. He has fished his entire life and thats all he wants to do. Also there is a "dare" to ride your bike for 5 days from one location to the next. There are surprisingly many younger kids, and there is no competition, its more like training. Another thing was that a family's house was torn down because of a tornado and they were very upset because the house ment everything to them. Someone offered to build them a new house, but they are still really sad that the house has to be torn down. One more thing is that people are camping out by a spartan statue. Its a tradition of the school to do this and kind of protect spartan.

Man an a Goose Form Unlikely Friendship

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/02/28/eveningnews/main20037484.shtml?tag=cbsnewsLeadStoriesAreaMain

An old retired man and a goose are friends. They walk around the park together, and the goose waits for him everyday. People say they walk around together like they are in love. The park is having a clean uo by the pond and the goose will be relocated, they don't know where yet but the old man hopes he can still see her.
This is probably the weirdest story I have ever heard. I didn't think a goose could get so attached to a person. It's also kind of cute in a way.

A-ROLL

High schoolers are constantly staying up late. When they aren't doing school work they are often socializing into late night hours.

"I HAVE 3-5 HOURS OF HOMEWORK A NIGHT. I HAVE SO MUCH HOMEWORK I BARELY HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE UNTIL SUMMER COMES AROUND."

Around 2/3 of the students at Eastview alone are not getting enough sleep. So there is one big question, are teachers pushing the student too far?

"I THINK THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WORK TIME IN CLASS. IF WE HAD A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WORK IN CLASS, IT WOULD CUT THE TIME I WORK AT HOME IN HALF."

"I GET HOMEWORK FOR EVERY CLASS ALMOST EVERY NIGHT. IT'S VERY STRESSFUL ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE TO BALANCE IT WITH 2 SPORTS AND A JOB EVERYDAY."

It is said that on average a teenagers in high school should be getting around 9 hours of sleep. Also most teenagers say they can't physically fall asleep until around 10 or 11. Because school starts at 7:30, going to bed at those times makes getting enough sleep impossible.

"I USUALLY CAN'T FALL ASLEEP RIGHT AWAY, EVEN IF HOMEWORK ISN'T KEEPING ME UP. WHEN I HAVE A LOT OF HOMEWORK I USUALLY ONLY GET ABOUT 5 HOURS OF SLEEP, BUT EVEN WITHOUT IT I ONLY GET ABOUT 7."

There have been talks around the country about later start times at high schools. It has been said that it could make a huge difference on how students perform in school.

"IF SCHOOL STARTED JUST AN HOUR LATER, I FEEL LIKE I WOULD BE A LOT MORE ENERGIZED AND READY TO GO TO SCHOOL. AS OF RIGHT NOW, I RARELY GET ENOUGH SLEEP AND I WONDER EVERY TIME I WAKE UP IF I'LL BE ABLE TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE DAY."

Interviews

Alexis Hamacher
-Why do you think students form cliques?
Because they all get along well with a certain group of friends.
-Do you think there good and bad cliques?
Yes, the good cliques don't exclude anyone and they are nice, the bad cliques only allow certain people to hang out in that group and they just make fun of people who aren't like them.
-Why do you think certain students get excluded from cliques?
Because they arent like the people in the clique and the people in a clique might have a problem with the person who wants to be part of their clique.
-Do you think that there is a leader of a clique?
Sometimes, in a bad clique I think that the "leader" tries to control how everyone acts and who they can be friends with but in a good clique I think that the leader would be the one who makes everyone feel good and gets along with everyone.
-Do you think that cliques are a good or bad thing?
I think they can be good if everyone that wants to be included is included

My Neighbor ( who is a teacher)
-Do you notice cliques at your school?
Yes, mostly with the girls. There are some very nice cliques and some that aren't so nice. I always see 2 cliques getting in fights with eachother.
-Do you think that there is a leader of a clique?
Yes, I have noticed that all the cliques have a leader. Some of the students that are in a clique are actually very nice girls, but the leader of her group as her controlled.
-Do you think that cliques are good or bad?
I personally think that all students should just get along, I know that isn't very realistic, but if everyone respected eachother I don't think we would have a problem with cliques

Girl Student
-Do you think its hard to get into a clique?
Yeah, if the leader doesnt think your cool then you don't get in. People change all the time and if you don't fit in with them anymore you have to find a new group of friends.
-Why do you think students form cliques?
I think that students for cliques because they want somewhere to belong with people they can get really close to and trust.
-Have you ever felt like you have been excluded from a group or clique?
Yes, its not always easy to get along with everyone and you have to be friends with the right people to be in a popular clique. I think there is a lot of pressure to be cool in highschool.
-Why do you think students get excluded from cliques?
I think they get excluded because they don't get along with everyone in the group. If one person doesnt like them, then usually everyone doesn't and that makes it hard to get included in a clique.
-Do you think cliques are good or bad?
I personally think they aren't good, you can have a group of friends but that doesnt give you a reason to put everyone down. If everyone was nice to eachother we wouldn't have any problems.

I did pretty good on the quiz and I learned that a passive voice uses words like by and the. An active voice shows what is happening. It removes word like by an the to make it an active voice.

Snooki Puncher Joins The Army, Says Report

Snooki got punched in the face by Brad Ferro and because of it he was forced to join the army. The episode wasn't aired until much later and when it was aired he got fired from his job and pleaded guilty. Since he had no job he was forced to join the army. This would really suck, but I guess it shows that you've got to watch what you do.

Highschool Basketball Star Dies on Court

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/HeartDisease/high-school-basketball-star-dies-court/story?id=13055595

A 16 year old boy scored the game winning shot in a basketball game and shortly after he collapsed and died. The team was holding him up in the air, after he walked away and collapsed. He was playing on JV and his dream was to play with his brother on varsity the next year.
I think that this is extremely sad but I don't understand how he died. I think they said in the article that it was from heat exhaustion, but they weren't completely sure so the cause of death is still unknown.

I learned that:
-The efective interviewer knows what he or she wants from the interview
-Used carefully, questions can make the difference between and answer and a quotable answer
-Questions can be keys that open a door to a person's life or beliefs
-Body language can make or break an interview

U.S. Gas Prices Leap Another 4 Cents

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/03/03/gas-prices-leap-4-cents/

U.S. gas prices keep raising and they are now at an average of $3.43 per gallon. It is costing americans $108 million to by the same amount of fuel as they did before. This is caused by loss of Lybian production.
I don't understand how we lost lybian production and I think that paying $3.43 per gallon is ridiculous.

This was during the NFC championship game and both men were drunk. The man having the party ordered one man to leave while holding a shotgun to his chest.
I don't understand how they can charge it as unintentional when the man held a shotgun to his chest.

Wisconsin Governor Duped by Prank Call

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/feb/23/governor-duped-by-prank-call/

The governor of Wisconsin was prank called and he discussed his strategy about unions in the budget. The caller was a guy from an online newpaper and they talked about his strategy for 20 minutes. It was widely spread over the internet and angered many people.
I'm surprised that the governor would talk about things like that over the phone. With all the technology these days, it could be anyone. He should have been more careful.

Wisconsin Power Play

There were huge riots this weekend in Madison, Wisconsin against the new governor. A representaive from Wisconsin compared governor Walker to Mubarak, the president from Egypt. Walker claims he is trying to be responsible by changing the Wisconsin government out of a democracy and eventually into a third world style oligarchy. Apparently the riots are not about budget, it's about the power which is why people want to break the unions. Although unions are a huge part in intutions to counterweight the power of big money. Walker continues to try to get rid of the protesters.
I don't really understand the whole situation, I know there have been riots in Wisconsin but I don't quite get the whole concept of them.

OJ Simpson Beaten In Prison

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/15/oj-simpson-beaten-unconscious-prison-attack_n_823504.html

OJ Simpson claimed to get beaten up in jail and a prisoner official said it wasn't true. It actually did happen but they were trying to keep it a secret. OJ is afraid to leave is jail cell and he had to spend 3 week in the infirmary. I don't understand why they were trying to keep it a secret. It's not like that would protect him in any way at all. I wonder if they were just lying about it because they didn't want their prison to seem out of control.

Deer Smashes Through Couples Bedroom Window

http://www.kare11.com/news/article/906922/14/Deer-smashes-through-couples-bedroom-window

In Eagan, Minnesota a couple woke up to a deer smashing through their bedroom window. They thought someone was breaking into their house and then they realized it was a deer and they locked it in the bathroom. The deer kept trying to escape and when they finally got it out the deer was very injured. There was blood everywhere from the deer.
I think it would be really funny to find a deer smashing through my window in the morning. I would probably think someone was breaking into my house too but i don't think I would have locked it in the bathroom. It was sad that the deer got injured

Man Accidentally Called Wife While Killing Her, Phone Recorded It

http://www.startribune.com/nation/115632164.html

A man from Florida accidentally recorded killing his wife on her cell phone. He called her and it went to voice mail so while he was killing his wife the whole thing was being recorded to her voice mail.

I think that this is actually kind of funny. Not that he was killing his wife, but that he got caught from something as simple as a butt dial. He deserved to get caught, and how he did just makes it funny.

Women Can't Recall Leaving Baby In Toilet

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41493938/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/

A lady from South Carolina was accused of having a  baby in a toilet and she claims that she didn't know she was pregnant or that she had the baby at all. She left the baby in the toilet, but it didn't die. She says she had no signs what so ever of being pregnant. Her 4 year old daughter was the only known witness and she doesnt remember what happened.

If this lady actually had the baby in the toilet, I don't know why she would lie about it since they could get a blood test to see if shes the mother. I hope she gets put in jail and her child gets taken away from her because that is just not okay. I'm pretty sure she would know that she had a baby, it's not something to lie about, especially since the baby could have died.

A nine year old girl is suffering from urticaria which means shes alergic to the cold. She can't be anywhere, eat or touch anything that is below 70 degrees. She can't do anything that causes her to be cold or she could die.

I had no idea that you could be alergic to the cold. Its kind of sad that she can never even eat icecream or play in the snow and shes only 9 years old. I wonder if she has to live in a warm place, or else she would have to sit inside all winter.

Best and Worst Superbowl Ads of 2011

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/parenting/detail?entry_id=82528&type=entertainment

There is always a question about what the best superbowl ads are. This year the top three were the volks wagen "the force", doritos "house sitting", and Chrysler "imported from detroit". The three worst were mini "cram it in the boot", living social changed my life, and the tibet ad.

My favorite was the Volks Wagen one and the Doritos one.I think that paying 3 million dollars for a 30 second commercial in the superbowl is ridulious.
